The Raze of the Twin Towers

Standing high close to the capital cityStood two towers, with all audacityBuilt on land with permission grantedAnd sold as houses with lots of lies chanted.

The plan changed and  structures steadily grewHeight surpassing Kutub Minar to kiss the blue.Signatures of numerous officials did the trickGloriously arose the towers, brick by brick.

Sold like a hot cake as people’s abodeWith hard-earned money silently transferred. But the authorities found something very  fishyBuilders had wronged and constructed floors too many.

The court gave a nod that all was wrongAnd the buyers desperately began to throngBut, to hear their plight there wasn’t a kind soul. The final order was issued to destroy it as a whole.

The plan was to bring it down, like a waterfallAnd the cost incurred for it was another haul.A huge price paid from the country’s pocketWhy was it not stopped before it rose like a rocket?

So many corrupt hands involved in the scamBut the loss was borne by the common manIt may have given a message that such things cannot repeatBut, officers unless arrested will only temporarily retreat.

Abundant  pollution and danger to facilities aroundWhich will take some time to settle downCould it be taken away and used as revenue?A Lot of savings could come to our economy’s rescue.

An example of our powerful judiciary could be setOnly by curbing both the bribe giver and the receiver, I bet.Such innumerable towers occupy lands meant to grazeThe solution probably doesn’t lie in their rapid raze.
