Rejection is a feeling,

I’m sure many have faced before.

When people you love,

on you; have shut the door.

No goodbyes, no communication,

no confrontation.

Silence….leaving one in stupefaction.

One’s left befuddled and bemused by this sudden disappearance,

leaving one in wonderment of this

incoherence.

Oh! Rejection hurts,

it surely does,

it’s not an ego bruised,

especially when rejected

by those whom you love.

Alas! One cannot control the uncontrollable,

Unfathomable; it shouldn’t make one impersonable.

As rejection doesn’t define one’s self-worth.

Accept rejection with dignity

and silently continue on life’s uneven firth.
