Mirror

“Mirror mirror on the wall,

Were you the reason behind her subdued calls?”

The kid who was the beholder of a cherry smile,

Was now dependent on the emoticons on her mobile.

The adolescent who was to live life without worrying anything about her appearance,

Was now lost beneath the layers of her insecurities.

The lady who was raised to be the protagonist of her life,

Was now made to climb the walls that society had already set for her.

Different stages had their ways to frame an image she had to behold,

And with the hope to fit in, the kid in her looked up for it in her mirror.

But was disheartened by the view that she was greeted with,

Little did she know that her true mirror was her heart which still held the kid in her.
