Broken Promise

To his newlywed wife, he made a vow

That he will be home within a year from now

He climbed on a huge army truck and drove

Waved his palm at me until out of sight he roved.

Many months passed without his message

As she work, daily used to look towards passage

Anticipating that he might come running

In her heart, desire to see him kept burning

There was heavy rain on a stormy night

She had been giving her difficult fight

Screams and moans out of pain

In storm, her yelps were in disdain

Alone she gave birth, to a baby boy

Cleaned him up, although she was cloy

She was more than an army in her might

She praised herself as she lay awake all night

A troop of armies arrived at her home the next day

Carrying a huge corpse covered in cloths grey

When she heard her husband is no more living

Holding a one-day-old son she started grieving.

All my dreams of living a joyful life

Is shattered! To the almighty, she rife
