The True Monk

Renouncing the worldly desire

Ordinary life filled with the bizarre

Surrenders to God in maroon attire

With the determination never to retire

Day and night they learn hymns

Soothing mantras in melodious rhymes

Reverberating prayers, that cause whim

Eradicating the sufferings of a sentient being

Faithful to dharma their minds are twined

Gives them the power to detach their body from the mind

To the daily event of prayers, they are confined

Making their heart compassionate and kind

Live their life Humble but brave

Some live in temples, some live in caves

Worldly materials they never carve

To their surroundings, radiate a positive wave

They train their mind to be calm as a lake

Remain tranquil even if the world shake

No agony nor ecstasy can break

As their souls are enlightened and awake.
