Longing

The distinct lilting cadences

in the landscapes of mind

set a robust rhythm to invoke

vistas of lush green

make me long for life divine

Quaint rattles of rickshaws

their warm strides

the melody of  cuckoos

still ring and chime

waft down to set

a rhapsody sublime

The hot dusty roads

leading to small tea joints

those lip smacking homemade cookies

sweet tangy imli pouches

still fresh in memory lane

make me long

for the long lasting imprints of life.
