It was a long time ago
That we wore the uniform
That defined our school.
It was a long time ago
That we moved up from Nursery to Twelve
That defined our school.
It was a long time ago
That we hardly entered late for classes
That defined our school.
It was a long time ago
That our parents dragged us out of sleep
For we had our school.
It was a long time ago
That we were stuffed in school bus like teddy bears
For we had our school.
It was a long time ago
That we started to enter adolescence
It was in our days of school.
It was a long time ago
That certain subjects became nightmares
In our days of school.
It was a long time ago
That a certain teacher became a hero
In the days of our school.
It was a long time ago
That every competition seemed the last
It was the days of our school.
It was a long time ago
That junk food tasted the best
No anxieties during those days of school.
It was a long time ago
That a casual female gaze mattered
For every look seemed to flatter.
It was a long time ago
That the world never seemed to get boring
For there were friends fantastic.
It was a time, a long time ago
A lot many things happened
Simple but significant
That would again never happen
Those were the school days
Days of sun, days of rain and days of winter
Moments bygone!
