Obituary

A year has passed by

Since we lost you dear brother,

Ma so old and frail

Remembers you day and night,

Her fading memory cannot remember

You are no longer with us.

She wonders when you will come and visit us again;

Her tender eyes pause at the doorway

Expecting to hear your sweet voice say “mama”

As you always did;

She chides your elder brother to call you

So she can talk to you,

She wonders why we do not fulfill her simple wish

A second later, she is calm…

As her weary eyes close to take a nap.

 It seems just yesterday we saw you coming down the stairs

With that tingling smile, you loved to display.

Your merry nature, your funny jokes,

Your teasing us, your ways so cool

Your cuddling hands so loving too

Now so far away yet so near us too

Blessedly gone into a land unknown

Where God takes care

Of those He takes away

Rest in peace dear brother

 In your new found home.

The pain is great we share it together

The years grow old, not the sorrow  though,

The ways of God, we do not know

He takes away those He loves the most.

He loves good angels just as we do…

                    Probably His need was greater too.

  1. It’s a beautiful tribute to dear Bhai. It’s so very touching a poem that unstoppable tears rolled down the cheeks while reading it. A salute of honour to dear Bhai who was hale & hearty one moment & gone forever the next. May his soul rest in peace. Ohm Shanti! Shanti! Shanti!
