Protected in the Wild

Exotic and vibrant looks you flaunt,

Plenteous hues you spread;

Lavish growth of yours occupies the glades

Up to the ends of the area, where your cultivars are bred.

“Wild flowers”, is how you are often categorized as,

Delicate you are, like a flake of snow;

Open to climate changes, preserved far away in the forest,

Protected strongly by the laws of that land, where no greedy hands can go.

How often, we say, the laws of the civilized world

are meant to protect all lives;

Curious enough, that you, dainty orchids, find a safe home

not in lawfully-handled cities, but in the untamed wild.
