Sheep

We think we have become powerless
But we are unaware of our own cowardice
Truth is, we had always been inconsequential
8 billion of us, yet only a handful of influential

‘The kings had power, they led thousands into battle’
But the thousands did not, they were merely cattle
So are we currently, billions of sheep
While the kings of today maintain their mystique
Though they do not wage war on a whole village,
They still manipulate us without our knowledge.

We live in a sad time, we just listen and follow
A superficial veil of evolution, inside its hollow
I myself am unaware of the profundity I recount
For I am just a sheep; Who the shepherd is,
I can only dream to know.
