Nainital and Tourism

by Shreya Agarwal

Nainital is one of the most popular sightseeing destinations in Uttarakhand; known for its majestic beauty and cold rainfall, stunning lake view, and seasonal snowfall that has been a fascinating experience for trippers. Excursionists are attracted to have voyaging experiences in the famous “Naini” lake, sightseeing, raspberry watching, photography, and numerous other activities.

Adversity by Tourism

Still, in recent times, this peaceful heaven of Uttarakhand has been affected by the adverse goods of the tourism attention; and heaving for breath recently. Though tourism has incontrovertibly boosted the financial condition of the state of Uttarakhand and has bettered structure and other installations but at the same time mass tourism has led to uncontrollable exploitation of natural means.

Locals

While talking with one of the natives who teaches in a nearby school she said due to heavy traffic it becomes burdensome to commute to the destination as roads get blocked, so, ultimately she has to take another route to travel, which is a long one.

Other localite said that “There is no parking for us, we are the local people and suffer the most, when on weekends also we can’t leave our home conveniently”

When asked which city has resulted in the high traffic in the area localities said it’s the Delhi traffic mostly on weekdays and Kashipur, Rudrapur, and Ramnagar on weekends.

While another person also said that “Now people of other cities are constructing their houses on the hills, which is over-loading the mountains resulting in their destruction”, furthermore, he also emphasized the cleanliness issue and how the polythene waste is damaging marine life.

Pollution Arrival

The increase in pollution situations is the primary cause that has contributed to environmental pollution. Also, the dwindling trend of snowfall can be fluently seen in the last 15 years, and this perfect flight is getting hotter.

Before it’s too late, we must take acceptable measures to save our cherished sightseer destination from reckless tourism, pollution, and population.
