Aimless

I wandered slowly through the bustling street ,
Laughter, giggles, sobs, screams all around – pacing up my heartbeat.
I began feeling choked , I wanted to move away fast ,
For it was through the countless flashbacks I was trying to get past.
After all , why was I on this street today ?
What persuaded me to go that way ?
Shattered pieces of my heart tinkled in pain ,
Annoyed with myself for taking the street where there was nothing cheerful to gain.
What if that aimless walk of my mind
Wasn’t that aimless , what if this rewind ,
Would give me the clues of where I went wrong ,
So that next time, my poem can be a merry song.
