Silence

I walked on the thorns of life,
I bled to my tolerance,
I wept bitterly,
I didn’t speak a word,
I was silent again.
I loved you once,
as the mellowed dusk set in,
as the birds flew to their cotes,
as times elapsed –
a little maturity was gained,
a prick I felt,
you hurt me,
shed my tears,
I couldn’t be loud,
because I was silent.
I retreated,
like the receding mandalas.
I locked up myself in my room,
someone asked: “what happened”?
My lips trembled.
My eyes welled up.
My limbs weakened.
I could not answer,
as I was silent,
silent forever!!
