Craving

We crave for power, land and for food

Desire flaring as a wildfire is not so good

To build the roads forest are mowed

We want roads to be fancy and broad

No minds are genuine, no heart has love

People are selfish throughout the globe

I fear the people, their tongue as sword

Relent to get oppressed, oppose to get warred.

Next-door neighbours are strangers

Plea for the help, in need or in danger

Through the window, they will ponder

Shoot video, instead of help they could render.

We desire a bicycle, then aspire a car

On to the Ferrari and then to a plane

Fulfill our desires with money we save

No time for family, we work as a slave

Ugly or beautiful, brilliant or naive

Poor or rich, coward or brave

Craving for wealth is an inner plague

Crave and crave until the day, we reach the grave.
