Poetry

In the Name of Pandemic

Locusts have lost their ways;

so have we

Trains have forgotten the rails

and the daily laborers.

So have we.

Humanity weeps in hospitals,

offices and bylanes

we don’t visit.

Earthquakes occasionally provide

jolts we experience in

daily life

But the dinner table is

ecstatic with an extended leisure

Only the elephant desires to have

a chair under the chandelier
