I Am An Open Eyed Hindu

by Sudha Dixit

Once upon a time there was a region called “Jamboodweep”. it was a big land mass, consisting of most of Eurasia and south Asia. Even Australia and Africa which moved away due to tectonic movement of earth. Jamboodweep, either mythically or factually, was supposed to be the center of the earth. Anyway, a major portion of this whole land mass was called Bharatvarsh, in ancient times.

Bharatvarsh was and is the land of Hindus. This place had best climate, atmosphere, environment and ambience. With beautiful mountains, pristine, sweet – water rivers, plenty of crop-yield and surplus flora and fauna, its inhabitants never had any need to go out and invade any country. They were happy and contented lot. Instead of wasting their time in war and loss of lives, they spent precious time studying, gaining knowledge and writing that down for posterity. That is how we have most ancient scriptures like Vedas, Upanishads, Shruties plus other poetic forms of literature. Hindus were living in their own paradise. This euphoric abode had made them generous, tolerant towards everything beyond their realm and at the same time complacent. It was their unique culture. They greeted and accepted outsiders also. Be it Chinese scholar Hiuen Tsang, Ibn e Batuta from Morocco or Megasthenes from Greece etc.

Since Hindus never invaded any foreign land, they were naïve enough to trust outsiders. They whole- heartedly accepted non- Hindus who wanted to remain in India. They did fight Muslims but did not drive out those who willfully stayed back. Ingenuous Hindus suffered several invasions. They were ruled mainly by Mugals and later by the British. Because of each incursion Bharat lost its many portions such as Afganistan, Sri Lanka, Burma and Thailand etc.  The massive Bharatvarsh shrank. The huge, magnificent Bhaarat got confined to present India. That, too, is under threat. So, how long can one continue being tolerant?

The Hindu had to wake up from his blissful sleep. He had to stop dreaming and face reality. Frankly, gullible Hindus allowed birth of Pakistan. Jinnah and his followers had no business to ask for division of India. It was a Hindu land. Hindus adopted outsiders. If they wanted an Islamic state, they should have gone back to other Muslim countries, which are more than fifty in number. There is only one big Hindu nation, which has already shrunk; why should Hindus part with their land? Here I want to ask Mr. Tharoor” Why did Congress big-wigs, Gandhi and Nehru, allow it?” Gandhi ji, at the drop of a hat, used to go on ‘fast unto death’ and force his opponent to surrender. Gandhi ji blackmailed Dr. Ambedkar with his ‘fast unto death’ on the issue of Dalits. Why didn’t Gandhi fast in front of Jinnah to drop his demand for separate Islamic state? Pure politics; and Tharoor accuses Modi of playing politics with Hindutva. Even today hardliner Muslims maintain their separate status quo. What does Owaisi do? When he dared Modi to remove police and he will annihilate Hindus; Mr. Tharoor was not appalled. Suppose Christians, also, demand a separate Englishtan, should we give it? Wherever Muslims happen to be in majority they drive away Hindus from there. That is what happened in Kashmir. Shashi Tharoor and his ‘humzubaanis’(people speaking his language) call Modi supporters ‘andh bhakt’. Well we are not blind. It is the, so called, seculars who are blind. They are living in their own grandiose image as intellectuals, big-hearted, open-minded and so very modern humans.

Being a Congress supporter, Tharoor claims Congress got us freedom. He, knowingly, undermines the role of Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh, which was bigger than Ganghi’s ‘ahimsa’. He does not mention that Gandhi could have saved Bhagat Singh’s life. We, often, wonder while many big and small freedom fighters were tortured in and outside jails, why Nehru was given royal treatment and material to peacefully read and write books? Gandhi wanted to dismantle Congress(Like king Arthur) because it had served its purpose. Ambitious Nehru opposed it. He, even, forced Gandhi to make him the prime minister instead of Patel. Congress, instead of building up the fractured nation, indulged in celebrating  its victory and became corrupt.  Appeasement of minorities, without doing any real work is its agenda to garner votes. Tharoor is intelligent but he is in Congress party, just like Manmohan Singh, the weakest, ever, PM of India.

I am a Hindu who is not blind, who is not complacent and who is not a sheer dreamer. My eyes are wide open and I am determined to keep my Bharat a Hindu land.
