Once again our illustrious news media have managed to scare people into a total standstill. It’s not enough major newspapers are folding monthly due to disinterested readers. People become tired of lies.
The sad fact remains more people died from the common flu last year in the State of Georgia than all of America from the coronavirus. An infection from a hang nail in certain circumstances is more fatal than C19 but the blabbering pie holes on the boob box will never tell you that inconvenient truth.
It is quite clear now the low the morbidity rate associated with this novel virus. I suspect our news media is disappointed with minimum death and drama and therefore need to pump up the volume.
In the quest to mutate the story further we have heard a great number of corona theories:
It comes from consuming snake meat
It comes from consuming anteaters
It was released by a bio lab in China
It’s a mutated virus spawned by opioid addicts
I’m waiting for the space aliens gave corona to the Earth as a gift for chasing their UFO’s for the past seventy years. What people need is a sober analysis of proper and consistent hygiene and those with underlying health conditions (almost all corona death victims) need to take even more stringent precautions. And maybe put down the snake meat sandwich — just in case.
In the meantime the coronavirus event is yet another lesson in the human condition involving fear. The virus that hurts and kills people more than AIDs, Cancer and Corona is still mindless fear driven by reckless reporters, feckless politicians and lazy parents. If for once, just once, we could face a danger with dignity and preparation how much better this world would be.
