When  you  feel  lonely

It’s  only  inside

Outside

There  is  a  crowd

Filling  up

Your  space  with

Voices  loud

But

Cannot  fill

That  hollow  pit

In  your  heart

Left  by  someone  who,

After  playing

His  part,

Vanished  without  a  trace

You  simply  put  up

A  brave  front

Maintaining  your  grace.

The  clouds  gather

In  your  eyes,

Do  not  shed

A  drop  of  rain

The  rainbow  of

Your  smile

Hides

Your  intensity  of  pain

There’s  a  multitude

Outside,

To  which

You  don’t  relate

A  similar  throng’s

Inside

No  better

At  any  rate

The  pains,

The  tears

Invisible  fears,

Unfulfilled  desires

Some  regrets

And  some  ires

The  whole  swarm

Is  there,  yet

The  emptiness

Remains, you  bet.

It’s  a  sad  sad  scenario

Come  to  think

Like  you  are  at  sea

And  all  around

You  happen  to  see

Water  water  everywhere,

Not  a  drop  to  drink

Passion  fills

Your  heart  to  brink

Yet  you  feel

You’re  going  to  sink
