High

above the clusters of high-rises

a bird soars through the smog

desperately searching for a tree.

Rain

Rain batters the Mughal Delhi.

The swamped sections are new

playgrounds for the slum kids

splashing in the muddy waters

inconvenience to the motorists.

Roar

The debris-choked drain in the summer

recovers its riverine form in the monsoon.

Floods the wheezing city with monster fury

its delayed revenge.
