Change.org Petition for Education of Kids Living in Orphanages

There are thousands of kids living in orphanages across India most of whom are dependent on the generosity of people and NGO’s for their education, health, food and living. Some kids gets adopted and get a chance to be assimilated into the mainstream society but many more are left behind without proper direction and guidance in life.

We encourage India lawmakers to introduce a bill in parliament at both state and national level to encourage schools, colleges and individuals to support and sponsor education of kids living in orphanages by giving them admission to academic institutions in both public and private sphere. For example the amount spent on education and development of such kids can be claimed as a tax break of up to 1.5 times of the amount spent. This is just one example but surely programs and policies can be developed with inputs from people, government and non governmental agencies.

Not having a family should not diminish a kids prospect to grow and achieve his rightful place in society.

  1. this is a welcome issue and a social awareness stand taken by you
trust many will agree with you and lend a helping hand towards promoting this cause
i am aware that there are many orphanages that are sending orphaned children to school and a lot of philanthropists are contributing towards their welfare by way of supporting them with daily needs too
notwithstanding this is an ideal approach
