मुझको भी तुमसे मुहब्बत तो नही हमदम ,कि बस

दिल  पे  तेरी  बेरुख़ी  कुछ  चोट सी  पहुँचाये   है

 तुम अगर  मसरुफ़ हो तो हम भी कब हैं मुंतज़िर

 फिर भी हर आहट  पे इक उम्मीद सी बँध जाये है

 तुमने की तर्के-वफ़ा ,अच्छा हुआ ,झंझट ख़तम

 बस यही अफ़सोस है दुनिया से दिल भर जाये है

तेरे  ग़म  में मरने  वाले और  होंगे ,हम नही

सिर्फ़ तुझ बिन ज़िन्दगी बेलुत्फ़ सी हो जाये है

फिर भी हम जीते रहे ,और इस तरह जीते रहे

जैसे  कोई  रास्ता  भूला  भटकता  जाये   है

लुत्फ़ चलने में है ,मंज़िल की भी अब चाहत नही

आये जो  मंज़िल  तो मेरा  कारवां  मुड़  जाये है

हम तो  समझे थे तुझे दिल से भुला बैठे हैं हम

ज़िक्र पर तेरे, न जाने आँख क्यों भर आये है

हम पे जो गुज़री, गुज़र जाये बिना आवाज़ के

कोई क्यों जाने कि कोई जान  से  भी जाये है

 Contradiction

 Even I am not in love with you comrade

But your apathy ,somewhat , hurts me

You are busy, I ,too, am not waiting for you

Still, every footfall makes me so hopeful

You broke away from me, good, no issue

Yet, sadly now, I don’t see any reason to go on living

There may be others who may grieve and die for you,

Not me It’s just that ,without you, life has become quite insipid

Nevertheless, I live and live in such a way

That a mislead person keeps wandering around

The pleasure is in moving-on, no wish to stop now

If the destination comes along, my caravan turns away

I thought I have forgotten you, but don’t know why

My eyes become tearful, at the mention of your name

Anyway whatever has befallen me, let it pass noiselessly

So that, no one knows that someone is just fading away
