Her Only Wish

She wished to go back in time,
When he sang her to sleep at bedtime,
When he cooked her favourite meal,
When he danced with her with all the zeal.
They assured her that he will be fine,
That the disease, her father will outshine.
With tears flowing and her hands trembling,
Her heart ached at the sight of his suffering.
Needles, injections, agony, and pain,
Her heart sank to ask,” God, Why him again?”
Her only wish was to see him smile like a sunflower,
A sunflower that fought the grey clouds with all the power.
