Yesteryears

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall count the days and nights, I laughed and cried.
Deeply ponder, if I laughed and cried enough as it matters how I sail through the year.

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall count my friends and foes that I made through the years;
ask me, if I made more friends than foes
which is inevitable in our life.

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall measure the number of merits accumulated and sins committed.
Ask me, if I did more good than harm to self and others;
both define the quality of my present and future life.

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall count my success and failure.
Ask me, if I succeeded or failed;
definitely, if I have failed several times, I have succeeded undoubtedly.

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall reflect on how I lived through the year.
Ask me, if I lived a happy or sorrowful life;
both are just a temporary part of my life.

Looking back to yesteryears,
I shall recollect all the experiences.
Ask me, if I had more positive or negative experiences;
all these are the wealth of my life.
