Moonlight

As the moon kissed the sky
my volatile mind began to fly.
The fluffy and intricate patterned clouds began to dance
beneath the moon, taking chance.

The Earth below was beautifully painted with silver,
and the moon smiled gleefully from the river.
I was amazed by the night
as it seemed calm and serene under the moonlight.

She walked around the vast space
and I followed her at my footsteps pace.
Through the night, the stars accompanied her
although they peeped from far.

I was dumbfounded seeing the nights starkness
despite the shine of moonlight exposed its sharpness.
The night was eerily silent
and the surrounding so vibrant.

I smiled at her
with gratitude for her care.
She slept peacefully when it dawned
and the Eastern peak was once again haloed and crowned.
