Love Letter

I was on a voyage, feeling lonely

Sorrowful and contemplative was I

Life had left me alive in name only

At the far horizon, you I did espy

It appeared such a happy chance

We were both so emotionally bound

I had been snared into a trance

As at a later stage, I had found

You stopped responding to my letters

Your silence cut deeper than a knife

“Cut him loose” advised my betters

To forestall the pain, end this strife

Adieu my love, now, for the final time

May god bless you, keep you in your prime
