The Art of Giving and Receiving

If you have anything to give, give it with an open heart;
If you ever receive, receive it with gratitude and without any greed.
For the hungry stomach, even a grain is like a mountain of food,
and a drop of water will flow like a river through thirsty throat.
The intentions matter in giving;
and in receiving, the attitude makes the difference.

Neither count the number of times you have given,
Nor measure the amount that is given;
Let the gift flow freely without any regret or attachment.
Do not count number of times or the amount you have received,
simply be grateful for all that is gifted with love and kindness.

There are only a few heart that beats for giving,
and those who receive are few fortunate ones,
because countless multitude do not have the privilege.
No one will become poor by giving,
in fact, the giver becomes rich with immense love and blessings received as rewards,
but these are unseen and the most special.

Giving and receiving is an art,
and the heart be an artist;
Kindness, a paint that makes things beautiful and loveable.
Not many have acquired these skills,
but there is an opportunity to always learn and practice.

Don’t be guided by self-doubts when you are on the mission of giving,
don’t be blinded by colour, caste, or creed;
let your heart speak and guide your action, kindness and happiness will flow unconsciously,
like a never-ending river that keeps flowing and connects with life.
