Melody of Love

I was blind

I fell in love

Badly,

I was naïve,

Wallowed in euphoria

Gladly,

We have never met

And,

Any such chance

We’ll never get

Yet

The idea of love

Had an exuberance,

That permeated

All over my world

As fragrance,

Obstructed

My sense of reason

Obscuring my vision

To the subtleties of treason

Then started

The series of trials

And I felt a

Sense of betrayal

Realization dawned, that

It was my naivety

I loved an image,

In its vitality.

I was in love with

The idea of love-

An illusion

It may cause

Some tribulation

But

So long as it lasted

It kept me in

Ecstatic exhilaration

And

All that while

Life was a celebration
