A.I. Artificial Idiocy

By Mark Antony Rossi

It’s bad enough humanity over relies on machinery to handle many arduous daily tasks. Now it’s become more possible than ever to allow machines to think and solve problems.

The progression of artificial intelligence is the most arcane development in this vast array of technological terror. The more we imbue soulless machines with power and access the closer we become to extinction. The cold logic of digital creatures is bound to see humanity as an inconsistent and inefficient entity plaguing the planet.

From the machine view: this mechanical perspective is not entirely inaccurate. Humans are a bloody mess of contradictions. I feel our vanity is the only reason we conceived of AI in the first place. It is solid evidence we are convinced that godlike creative powers make for the existence of gods. We have the power to destroy the world. Today we have the power to command robots to reason with the elements.

Artificial intelligence is our modern equivalent of the Tower of Babel, a place meant to reach the Heavens but instead came crashing down to Hell. As we increasing its connectivity we face robot thinking turn off the power grid, unleashing nuclear reactors and aiming our weapons at our cities.

While we guard our borders against religious fanatics and paperless pilgrims the machines plot against human values expecting one day to stamp out flesh into hills of ash. The visitors of a future Earth may find purple poisoned oceans and land rovers with solar cells greeting their arrival.

Our history wiped clean by digital demons ready to devour any form of advancement other than their own. Artificial intelligence in its pursuit of perfection only proves how very human its action and results ultimately prove to be.
