Serving Self-Respect

By Mark Antony Rossi

The life of a modern writer is a frantic search for a core identity in a world that changes colors, borders and genders faster than the ink can dry in the history book.

Authenticity is a highly prized asset in a confusing age of artificial postures and superficial sentiments. The average quest for truth is a veiled attempt at personal security; not a grand gesture for public renewal.

In the background of a day where machines are valued more than humans the literary writers forge a genuine dialogue that transcends digital disposability and begins to build a honest relatable story of love, loss and life.

Every morning we awaken to a clock reminding us our relationship with the gods, the planet and each other is next to nonexistent but for the weakened words we think can carry the day. But our lives of artificial construction cannot handle the weight of reality.

We live in a time where lies are the norm in every corner and cupboard. The truth is refreshing but socially dangerous at many avenues. And any Art imbued with integrity is an act of rebellion against a system breastfed the milk of mediocre. The true artist is on the frontline of fear and fact taking the battle to the people still deciding which is more important: self-respect or self-deceit.
