Thoughts suddenly floated into my lazy mind
As I lay upon the sofa, oh! So dear
Compelling me to relax awhile before pattering on my toes
From room to room
Finishing untold tasks that lay boringly inactive
From morn until night
The endless compelling chores shriek and pester the mind
Irrespective of the fact that the yawning day
Draws to a reckless end
The evening draws closer as the rays slide down
Behind the purple mountain as stories convey,
Whether true or false who knows… the ancients believed so
The science of today states otherwise
The mountains are no longer purple
The sun does not hide there to peep and resurrect
It simply travels to the other side of the world
To awaken the people there to herald a new day
So merrily born dismissing the moon
Elsewhere to shine and glow
The restless mind flashes back and forth
To race with the ascending, descending day
Since Time travels faster than legs can carry your dreams
To relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon, which drowns your aching spirit
To clutch and hold the hour,
To stop the hands of the clock a while
To let you pursue your tired dreams
Spent and wasted for lack of Time
Yet, there are twenty- four hours in a day
To spend it as you like but demands grow stronger
Than your age permits you to exhibit
The setting sun reminds you
Your day is done
