Whenever we met
He acted as a friend
But there was no sincerity
He just followed a trend
I thought, to make me happy,
He had come in my life
Until I saw in the bouquet
He was hiding a knife
If he had any grouse
Why, then, put up a charade
He could’ve faced me directly,
Not make friendship a façade
We cherish some good friends
And some we trust and believe
Some are like snakes,
Who breed in our sleeves
How some people exploit
Friendship – a sacred notion
It’s a thing of human value
To be treated with devotion
