खुशियों   के   वो   सरमाये   मस्ताने   आदमी  थे

दुश्मन  को  अपने  हमने  लो  माफ़   कर   दिया

उनसे   गिला   क्या   करना   बेगाने  आदमी  थे

लेकिन  तुम्हे  ना  हमदम  दे  पायेंगे   दुआयें

तुम   तो   हमारे  जाने   पहचाने  आदमी   थे

हमको  उजाड़ने  की  क्या  थी  तुम्हे  ज़रूरत

हम   तो   हमेशा   ही  से  वीराने   आदमी  थे

कैसे  समझ  में  आती  फ़ितरत  तुम्हारी  जानम

हम   प्यार   में   तुम्हारे    दीवाने   आदमी   थे

Often,those,who came to help,were totally unknown people

Harbingers of joy they were happiness – prone  people

We’ve forgiven enemies, why any grouse against them

They  were  outsiders, utterly alien people

We will never pray for you in life friend, for

You were our trusted and well-known people

May we ask why did you try to devastate us

We were, anyways, wretched and forlorn people

How could we, possibly, comprehend your traits

We were for you, beloved, crazy and lovelorn people
