Reawakening the Human Condition

By Mark Antony Rossi

If you accept the scientists and theologians narrow assessments: the human condition is a fixed set of programming that rarely strays from a predictable result. They emphatically state human nature needs outside intervention to rise above its inherent weakness.

Their viewpoints are supremely convenient when considering the scientific remedy is artificial enhancement to build a superhuman. And the religious remedy is slavish devotion to rituals until the supernatural transforms weak flesh. I say nay to these silly so-called solutions.

If humanity is to retain Hope it must ignore the polar opposites of science and religion and forge ahead on its own with full understanding that the power to change one’s nature has always been staring back in the mirror. It’s right there. Wave. And come up with a plan to move forward.

The strength to be human in this digital age requires guarding the power of choice and taking responsibility for your actions. I honestly think some people latch on to science or religion because it helps them avoid accountability. “I was born like this”. “The devil made me do it.” Because on the accountable path there will be no robot to the rescue. The only angels you will witness— play baseball in California.

But rejoice because you are living in the realm of freedom. And only through freedom can you begin to improve human nature. The choice to forgive and begin anew is a powerful example of not giving into the defeatist cycle of vengeance.

The negative forces of history have turned too many into pilgrims believing they had to cross the trade winds of tomorrow to win a moment of peace. But I say to you that helping a neighbor, feeding a stranger and cooperating with people of different backgrounds and opinions would solve 75% of the world’s current problems.

Imagine the most productive things to improve the human condition are simple tasks that also improve the world. We have been sold a bill of goods by groups serving a selfish agenda and unconcerned with the fate of humanity. Our global destiny remains in the hands of common people whom must awaken from their slumber and steer their hearts to humane habits that have the power to reshape the planet.
