In the desert of my reveries,
Exiled and condemned
I wandered,
The chimera of your love
Had me an antelope
Rendered
All around I see
There is sand –
Shiny, dry and hot,
Whither that fertile,
Shady cool spot,
Where I may quench
My thirst
And wash off from my body
The journey’s dust,
Dust, that I had been gathering
Since ages.
Dust, that my quest for knowledge
Found in unopened
Books’ pages.
Following the mirage,
Chasing a dream
In the far distance
I sight a gleam.
Tired and withered
I hope against hope
I scrawl, I walk, I run,
I just cannot stop,
I move on and on
Even if it’s for
A dew drops.
My ambitious perseverance,
My purposefulness sheer
At last brings me closer
To a shimmering,
Glimmering mere,
Pursuit of wisdom.
Joy and cheer,
In the end proves
My thesis,
Flight of fancy,
Vision or fantasy,
Help you through
The wilderness and
Reach your destination
A much desired Oasis
