In the past honesty and sincerity
Garnished with genuine sweet words and thoughts
Led to a mouth watering dish topped with appreciation
That nourished Man with a healthy mind and body
A happy comfortable life he thus led
Satisfied with what he had
A heavenly paradise on earth he lived in
That was the reward
Yes, a spiritual reward it was!
But
Today in an absolutely changed world we live
Genuine values are no longer relevant
He who adheres to them-
A heavy price he pays losing the battle of candidness
Being a sycophant is today’s key to success
The ladder of achievement then falls in your lap!
Grazed to the ground the old school of values is-
Catapulting into frustration and depression its followers
A life built on devoted sincere honest work-
Crashes down before one’s very eyes
A laughing stock he becomes-
While helplessly gropes he for support!
Forsake not the old values for the new futile ones-
For God’s reward is the greatest one
Let Him alone be your judge
For He is our Father who will never be unjust!

The life values like honesty, sincerity, and simplicity handed down by our glorious past ensure a comfortable, contented, and heavenly life on earth.
The same values now face slow death, yielding place to fake ones that form the basis of life making a mockery of straightforward people who are driven to extreme frustration paying a heavy price for being genuine!
May not this trend justify the wrong path, and may the old values revisit to change people for the better!!!
