GIFT  DIVINE

Mirage – like dream that you have given me

How  do  I  tell  that  it’s  heady  like wine

Just  ignore the harsh sobriety on my face

Look at the shyness in the eyes that shine

See   in   my   core   the   old   vigour and  youth

Not   at   my   face   the   aging   time’s   sign

Life’s  like  a  river  it’ll  never  come  to  a  halt

There  may  be  dearth  of  water  but  the  flow’s  fine

Even   affinity  is, at   times,  less   or   more

I’ve  kept  the  account  of  each  rope  and  twined

If   a   single   tear   dropped  from   my   eyes

That’d  be  in  reply  to  one  who  caused  me  to  whine

Love   to   read   a   lot, be   it   prose    or  a   verse

My  partner  would  be  like  a book  for  which I  pine
