हरी  पहाड़ियों  से यूँ  घिरी वो वादी थी

हवा थी, चांदनी थी और नदी थी

मेरी तक़दीर में तारीकियों की घुटन थी

और इक वीरानगी थी

मन को छलती हुई सुंदरता में, मेरे

अहसास पे छाती हुई वो बेखुदी थी

वक़्त की हद्द जैसे खो गयी ही

साँस रोके हुए वो एक घड़ी थी

कि सारी कायनात थम गयी थी

वो कुछ लम्हें थे या कि इक सदी थी

Encased by lush green hills, was the

Valley,  breeze, moonlight and  river

In my kismet there  was  a suffocating

Darkness and a wasteland

In the beguiling beauty of my perception

I  felt a stupor hovering over me

Time had lost its boundary

The breathless moment stood very still

The universe had stopped moving

Was  that an  instant or a whole  century
