Childhood at the footpath

Suddenly my mind got dejected while something caught my sight,

Inner conscience called me to describe it somewhere,

Lost in poverty but still so carefree,

Feet covered in dust and mud, with open sky embracing them,

In the golden light of that mirage, searching for their childhood,

With unknown destinations and lost paths ,

By selling their own, they were reviving others childhood,

But still they were not pleading to someone for help,

Wrapped in the filthy rags, they were just living corpse,

Eyes were calm and moist but with hope of just a morsel,

Whose fault was this and who is going to rectify,

How and when a drop of rain will touch this barren land.
